Whitinsville- Arthur O. Bergeron, 88, passed away at home on Mon. Oct. 24, 2022 peacefully with his loving family by his side after a period of declining health. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 68 years, Beverly Ann (Henault) Bergeron in 2021.

Born in Uxbridge on December 14, 1933 he was the son of Oscar L. and Rose D. (Bourassa) Bergeron and grew up in Uxbridge. Arthur worked for many local businesses over the years, Whitin Machine Works, the Draper Corp., and as a gas and oil technician for Home Gas and Nydam’s Oil. He also worked many years as head custodian for the Northbridge public school system retiring in 1997. A proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, Arthur served on the USS Macomb during the Korean Conflict and was stationed in Europe.

Arthur was a great father and grandfather and was extremely generous, giving money to each grandchild each time they saw him. When his kids were young, he and Beverly always took them for family day trips visiting amusement parks, picnicking all over, and for beach days, frequently to Plymouth where he would endulge in a hot bowl of chowder. He was an avid sports fan and watched them all on TV including wrestling and bowling. His favorite team was the New England Patriots and he coached each game from his chair. He was an old Westerns fan and loved taking trips to Westend Creamery and Hebert’s Candy mansion for ice cream. He was deeply adored by his family and will be forever missed.
