Armand Morneau Obituary

Southbridge - Armand A. Morneau, currently of Oxford, passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2025 after a brief illness. 

         He is survived by his two daughters, Kelly A. Stickney and her husband Mark of Douglas, Suzanne M. Tetrault and her husband Adam of Wilbraham; three grandsons, Ryan and Connor Stickney and Thomas Tetrault; three sisters, Gloria Dupre of Fiskdale, Una Morneau of Southbridge and Therese Lalummiere of Plainfield, CT; his former wife, Barbara (Perazzola) Morneau of Southbridge; his close friend, Nancy Lefebvre and her family of Oxford; his close friend, Jon Christensen also of Oxford and many great friends. He was preceded in death by his brothers Maurice, Albert, Clarence, and Paul Morneau, and his sisters, Desneiges Chiocca, Estelle Remillard, Medora Jones, Louise Martel, Rose Marie Kupiec, Jeannette Renaud, and Rita Chausse.

         Born in Southbridge on August 15, 1941, he was the son of Paul and Therese (LaRoche) Morneau and lived most of his life in Southbridge before moving to Oxford in 1995. He was a proud U.S. Army Veteran who achieved the rank of Sergeant and was honorably discharged in 1965. After his service, Armand worked for D&D Welding in Southbridge before owning and operating Armand’s Shoe Repair in Southbridge for ten years. He then retired from the American Optical Company in Southbridge. 

         Armand was a devoted grandfather, always present at family activities and celebrations. He was a skilled tradesman at heart and was always eager to share his knowledge with family and friends. He spent many days in his friend’s auto repair shop assisting whenever possible and spending time with good friends. He also loved spending time at Honey Dew Donuts in Webster and socializing with all his friends there. He was an avid animal lover enjoying his pets and grand pets over the years. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.

         Memorial calling hours will be held from Jackman Funeral Home, 7 Mechanic St., Douglas on April 11th from 6-8 PM. A Funeral Mass celebrating Armand’s life will be held on Saturday, April 12th at 11 AM in St. Denis Church, 23 Manchaug St., Douglas.
