Douglas- Arline “Mickey” A. (Mikolaycik) Campo, 93, formerly of North St. passed away Saturday, October 25, 2025, after a period of declining health. Her husband of 60 years Robert E. Campo died July 23, 2015.
She is survived by her three children Karen and her husband Wayne Lussier of Holliston, Peter and his wife Nadine Campo of Douglas, and Jessica Hurley and her fiancé David Tetreault of Thompson, CT; 9 grandchildren Justin Lussier and his wife WonMi, Keith Lussier and his wife Krista, Alisa Campo, Mariah Forsythe, Adrianna Campo, Ryan Campo, Patrick Campo, Nathaniel Hurley and Brynn Hurley; 12 great-grandchildren Sophie, Camille, Leo, Hazel, Madeline, Penelope, Hunter, Lily, Jaxson, Michael, Riley, and Silas; and many nieces and nephews. She was sister of the late John P. “Porky” Mikolaycik, Joseph A. Mikolaycik, and Pauline Mikolaycik, who died as a child.
Born in Douglas on June 29, 1932 Mrs. Campo was the daughter of Andrew and Mary (Pompa) Mikolaycik and lived here most of her life. She had been a resident of Care One in Millbury 3 years.
Mrs. Campo was employed by the US Postal Service in the Douglas office for many years. She worked her way up the ranks, eventually becoming the Postmaster, retiring in 1994. Previously, she worked as a kindergarten teacher at St. Denis Church, at the Tupperware Corp., Hayward Schuster Woolen Mill, and Frost’s Store.
An active member of St. Denis Church, Arline loved attending Mass. She belonged to their Catholic Women’s Council, Bereavement Ministry, and taught CCD. She was a member of the Slovak Catholic Sokol, the Douglas Social Center, and enjoyed playing cards, cribbage, crafts, painting, and crosswords. Her hobbies included traveling, following the Red Sox, and attending her children’s and grandchildren's events.
Her funeral will be held Friday, October 31, at 11 am in St. Denis Church, 23 Manchaug St. Douglas, Burial will follow in St. Denis Cemetery. Calling hours at Jackman Funeral Home, 7 Mechanic St. Dougals, are Friday, October 31, from 9 to 10:30 am. Memorial donations in Arline’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice
