Manchaug- Arline A. (Bruno) Auger, 96, passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at UMass Medical Center after a period of declining health, surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Joseph A. “Tony” Auger who died in 2003.
She is survived by her son Anthony H. Auger and his wife Margarita of Webster; her daughters, Annette A. Ford and her husband Gary of Sutton, Audrey A. Auger of Blackstone, Amy A. Peloquin and her husband Brian of Sutton; 3 grandchildren, Matthew M. Ford and his wife Amy of Kennebunk, ME, Thomas P. Ford and his wife Karin of Richmond VT, and Zachary A. Peloquin of Sutton; 3 step grandchildren, Caroline Mieses, Katherine Mieses, and Morelia Ruberti Mieses; 3 great-grandchildren, Kaitlin, Ava, and Tyler; 4 step great- grandchildren, Cathlen, Kaytline, Catsmawin, and Magareth; her sister, Kathleen Rondeau of Whitinsville, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 3 brothers Al, Bob, and Leon Bruno, and 4 sisters, Helen Homenick, Rita Bloniasz, Barbara Greeno, and Caroline Fulone.
Born in East Douglas on July 4, 1928 she was the daughter of Henry A. and Viola Mae (Hughes) Bruno and was raised in Douglas. She was a graduate of Douglas High School. She married Tony in 1948 and moved to Manchaug where she lived the rest of her life.
Primarily a homemaker, Arline worked for many years in textile and offices. She was an amazing and strong woman who overcame many obstacles. In her retirement, she liked going to play bingo with her sisters. She also enjoyed life by the lake, watching and feeding the birds, bunnies and squirrels. She loved her dogs and was especially fond of Lady and Missy. Above all she loved her family, loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
