Whitinsville- Arlene M. (Brousseau) Benoit, 87, of Sherry St., passed away Saturday, October 22, 2022 at home after a period of declining health, surrounded by her family in a room filled with love.
She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Norman C. "Ben" Benoit; 3 children, Stephane N. Benoit of Fayetteville, OH, Donald J. Benoit of Milford, OH, and Debra A. Benoit-Quinama of Whitinsville; 9 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was sister of the late Lorraine Jannery.
Born in Whitinsville on October 26, 1934 she was the daughter of Joseph A. and Jeannette (Labbe) Brousseau and has been a lifelong resident of Northbridge. Arlene was educated by the Northbridge public school system. She was a graduate of Northbridge High school class of 1953. Primarily a homemaker, Arlene also worked as a private secretary at State Mutual Ins. Co., where she was an excellent typist, and also as the Activities Director for Beaumont Nursing Home.
She loved preparing wonderful meals for her family and cooking everything from scratch. She also enjoyed crafting, quilting and knitting. She had a great love of music, and reminisced while watching The Waltons and Little House on the Prairie. She listened to WBZ talk radio each night, and loved to play backgammon and solitaire. She was an animal lover, and adored her many dogs over the years, and her grand-dogs. Above all, she loved spending time with her beloved family, especially her grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
