Anne Woodward Obituary

Whitinsville- Anne E. (Lachapelle) Woodward, of Laura Lane passed away Monday July 22, 2024 at home after an illness. Her husband of 47 years Leonard S. Woodward died Oct. 18, 2002.

     She is survived by 2 daughters Donna A. Ciccone and her husband Tom of Whitinsville, and Susan M. DeJong and her husband Scott of Thompson, CT; 6 sons Steven R. Woodward and his wife Sally of Wakefield, NH, Kevin J. Woodward and his wife Margaret of Grafton, David P. Woodward and his wife Laurie of S. Grafton, Michael A. Woodward and his wife Pamela of Centerpoint TX, James T. Woodward and his wife Kimberly of Douglas, and Timothy J. Woodward and his wife Laurie of Whitinsville; 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; her brother Norman Lachapelle and his wife Alfreda of Whitinsville; her sister-in-law Ruth Lachapelle; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by siblings Jacqueline Blinkhorn, Jeannette Glode, Rita Baines, Loretta Bikes, Alberta Rabitor, Leoza Kuhnel, Florence Kilmurray, Joseph Lachapelle, Charles Lachapelle, Henry “Donat” Lachapelle, Francis Lachapelle, Clarence Lachapelle, Gerard Lachapelle, Richard Lachapelle, and Robert Lachapelle. Two infants Norman and Philip passed as well. Anne was born in Whitinsville, MA on July 2, 1935 the daughter of Joseph and Leoza (Contois) Lachapelle, and lived here most of her life.

    Mrs. Woodward worked many years at the Tupperware Corp. and later at Ethyl Molded Products in S. Grafton. In her retirement she was employed at Catholic Charities in Whitinsville. Educated in the Northbridge public school system, Anne was a lifelong member of St. Patrick’s Church. She enjoyed playing cards on Wednesday nights, watching the Red Sox and Patriots, having coffee at McDonalds with her companions and making beautiful blankets which she gave away to family and friends. The fabric of her life was family however. Anne will be remembered as a gem of the community who will be deeply missed. She was a kind and affectionate wife, a fond mother, grandmother and great grandmother, beloved sister, and a friend to all.

     Her family would like to thank her grandchildren Katelyn Firth, Erin Roy, Aidan Nulty Woodward and Margaret Woodward for the great care shown to their grandmother. Also, the family wishes to thank  Dr. Ramya Korapati for her compassion and care over the years, and Dr. Michael Constantine for his exceptional care and professionalism. 

     A private burial will be held at St. Patrick’s Cemetery at the family’s convenience. There are no calling hours.
