Anne T (Briand) Loughlin

Whitinsville - Anne T. (Briand) Loughlin, 93, passed away peacefully on Sun. Feb. 20, 2022 at AdviniaCare in Northbridge after a period of declining health. She was predeceased by her husband of 29 years, William L. Loughlin who passed away in 2002.

        She is survived by 11 nieces and nephews, Cathy Briand-James, Joanne Briand, John Briand, Elizabeth Brodeur, Jean Goodwin, Janet Briand, David Levesque, Susan Levesque-Short, John Levesque, Joan Levesque-Arguin, and Robert Levesque; a brother in-law, Peter Loughlin, as well as many great-nieces and nephews and extended family. She was also predeceased by her brother Joseph Briand; 2 sisters, Rose Kerwin, and Margaret Maynard, and recently her niece Barbara Levesque. 

         Born in South Grafton on Feb. 29, 1928 she was the daughter of Arthur and Mary (Martell) Briand and grew up in Grafton. Anne attended Grafton Public schools and graduated from Putnam Catholic Academy in Putnam, CT. She worked in the Credit Dept. for the former Whitin Machine Works, and then for the former Denholm & McKays Department Store in Worcester where she worked for many years until her retirement. 

        Anne was a social, bubbly woman who loved life and always lit up the room. She enjoyed playing bingo, scratch tickets, word search puzzles, and playing cards, especially solitaire. A woman of great faith, Anne was a longtime parishioner of both Our lady of Lourdes, and Our Lady of Loretto Parishes in Worcester. 

        Anne was a resident of Beaumont/ AdviniaCare for the past 3 years and her family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff there for their kindness and support shown to Anne. 

         Anne’s funeral mass will be celebrated on her birthday Mon. Feb. 28 at 11 AM in St. Patrick’s Church, 1 Cross St., Whitinsville.
