Northbridge- Anna (Filipkowski) Czebotar, 95, passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at Blackstone Valley Health and Rehab. After a period of declining health. She was predeceased by her husband of 68 years, John S. Czebotar in 2020.
She is survived by a daughter, JoAnn (Czebotar) Sweetman and her husband, Robert D. Sweetman, of Whitinsville; a son, John A. Czebotar and his wife, Elaine D. (Giarrusso) Czebotar, of Uxbridge; two grandchildren: Rob Sweetman and Melissa (Sweetman) Parker and her husband, Ben Parker; three great-grandchildren: Nicholas, Avalon, and Brielle Parker; and several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by 2 brothers, Jacob and Zigmond Filipkowski.
Born in Providence, RI on May 28, 1928 she was the daughter of Antonio and Stephanie Filipkowski. Mrs. Czebotar worked many years as an Office Manager for the former printing company J.S. Wesby in Worcester. After her retirement, she worked for Filene's Basement in Worcester.
Anna's favorite place was the beach. For years she enjoyed spending her summers with her husband at their home on the Cape. There, they went clamming, and searched for quahogs and oysters, and often walked the beach. They also took yearly trips to Myrtle Beach, SC. She also enjoyed visiting the casino, playing bingo, and crocheting. She was a woman of great faith and was a longtime parishioner of St. Peter's Church, where she also enjoyed working the church bizaar's over the years.
Anna's family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Blackstone Valley Health and Rehab. and Jewish Healthcare Hospice, for their care and support shown to Anna during her stay.
Anna's graveside service will be privately held at the convenience of her family in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
