Ann Marie O'Connell

Uxbridge- Ann Marie (O’Connell) Balcom Pizzarella, 64, of Centennial Court passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday February 18, 2025. Her former husband Scott Balcom Sr. died in 2015.

     She is survived by two sons Matthew Balcom and Scott Balcom Jr. both of Uxbridge; her mother Mary E. (Seagrave) O’Connell of Uxbridge; five grandchildren Evan Balcom, Riley Smith, Cody Richard, Maddison Balcom, and Natalie Balcom; a brother Edward Brady O’Connell Jr; her two sisters Ellen Scott and Mary Ann Wilson and her husband James all of Uxbridge; several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. She also leaves many lifelong friends. She was predeceased by her brother-in-law Stephen M. Scott in 2013.

     Born in Whitinsville on June 9, 1960, Ann Marie was daughter of the late Edward Brady O’Connell Sr. and lived in Uxbridge all her life. She was a graduate of Uxbridge High School, Class of 1978. She was employed as a Multi Media Sales Rep for the Worcester Telegram and Gazette for 27 years, retiring in 2013. Over the years she enjoyed playing tennis, music, and reading. A born caregiver, Ann Marie looked after several elderly friends in town, running errands, driving them to appointments, and looking after their wellbeing. Her grandchildren were her world, however. She loved spending time with them and loved all of them deeply.

     Her memorial Funeral Mass will be held in St. Mary's Church, 77 Mendon St., Uxbridge on Tuesday, April 8th at 11AM. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
