Ann Dias Obituary

Uxbridge- Ann M. (Thompson) Dias, 74, of Uxbridge passed away peacefully at home on Tues. Nov. 16, 2021.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Joseph M. Dias; 2 sons, Joseph Dias of Plymouth, and Allen Dias of Uxbridge; a granddaughter, Caitlyn Dias and her daughter Lilyetta Dias of Hudson; her granddaughters Chelsie Dias and Camryn Dias; her brother, Walter Thompson of Plant City, FL; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late William Thompson 

Born in Milford, MA on June 27, 1947 she was the daughter of Albert M. and Lillian M. (Hoel) Thompson, and grew up in both Uxbridge and Manchester, NH. Manchester High School Central After marriage and the start of her family.

Ann was primarily a homemaker but took great pride when returning to school to receive a college education. Ann received her Associates degree at Newbury College graduating cum laude. Ann then worked as a paralegal many years for Greenwald and Greenwald Associates in Milford and then for The Law Offices of Donna J. Hines & Associates, P.C. of Northborough. Aside from her career as a paralegal, Ann took pride in being Notary Public, worked in Real Estate, and shared a love for politics. Ann had a strong passion for the arts. She owned her own ceramics studio, created oil paintings and drawings, and could also be found writing with elegance. She would write about her personal adventures or practice her creative writing through fiction stories or poetry. She also had a talent in clothing design and sewing. She would sew beautiful pieces and clothing for her family, including her granddaughter’s prom dress, several Christmas ornaments and stuffed animals. Ann took pride in her family; she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her great granddaughter, whom she loved to spend time with, inherited the name of Ann’s late Mother Lily. She was also an honorary grandmother to many. She contained an unconditional heart, was always there for her family and, above all else, she was a faithful wife to the love of her life Joe. She loved being a mother and watching her family grow.

Ann enjoyed spending time with her family and loved ones. She loved her art and creations, family vacations, travel, dining out, shopping, cooking, Jeopardy, reading and writing. The holiday season was her favorite when she could bake and cook for everyone she cared for. Ann was a giver, and on top of her many passions she enjoyed donating her delicious pastries to local hospitals. She was a kind, sweet, and selfless woman who will be sorely missed by her family.

Ann’s memorial funeral mass will be held on Sat. Dec. 11 at 11 AM in St. Mary’s Church, 77 Mendon St., Uxbridge. There are no calling hours.
