Douglas – Andrew Vincent Galvin, 38, formerly of Depot St., passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2026 suddenly at his brother’s home in Oxford.
He is survived by his parents, Elizabeth (Wisel) Galvin on Palm Harbor, Fl, and Paul Galvin of Deridder, LA; his sister, Samantha Cooley and her husband Matthew also of Deridder, LA; his brother, Christopher Marra of Oxford; his maternal grandmother Carolyn Wisel of Fitchburg; his girlfriend, Rochelle Whitford of Cuba, NY; 3 nephews, Thomas Marra, Joshua Dubay-Marra, and Lane Cooley; 3 aunts, Jennifer Ulmer, Patricia Galvin and Robin Fortunati; 2 uncles Richard Galvin and Stephen Galvin, as well as many cousins and good friends. He was predeceased by his grandparents Gerald Wisel, Shirley Wisel, and Fran Galvin.
Born in Worcester on July 11, 1987, Andrew grew up in Douglas. He was a graduate of Douglas High School, Class of 2005, where he was an active member of the basketball, baseball, and golf teams. He later attended Quinsigamond Community College, where he studied Business Administration. Andrew worked as a salesman for American Gutter Systems in Rhode Island and had previously been employed as a groundskeeper at Blissful Meadows Golf Course.
Andrew had a great personality, was outgoing and chatty, and was always ready to offer advice to those around him. He was smart and athletic, and had a natural ability to connect with others and was very well-liked by everyone who knew him. He enjoyed golfing, was a devoted fan of Boston sports teams, loved music of all kinds, and was an avid movie enthusiast.
His funeral will take place on Sunday, March 8, at 4:00 PM at Jackman Funeral Home, 7 Mechanic St., Douglas. Calling hours will be held prior to the service from 1:00 to 4:00 PM.
