Linwood- Alice A. St. Andre, 95, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, in Plymouth, MA. She lived a long and full life.
Alice was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Edward R. St. Andre, her son, Michael H. St. Andre, and her daughter, Joan M. St. Andre. She is survived by her son, David E. St. Andre and his wife, Linda, of Lewiston, Maine, and her daughter, Jean M. (St. Andre) Chisser and her husband Skip, of Plymouth, Massachusetts. She also leaves behind 6 grandchildren: Tara (Connor) Gaiss of New York, Laurel (St. Andre) Merrill and her husband Landon of California, Lynne (Remillard) Reznick and her husband Scott of Texas, Lacie St. Andre and life partner Michael Schotanus of Massachusetts, Andrew Remillard and his wife Kyla of Massachusetts, and Jesse St. Andre and his wife Cathy of Connecticut. She also leaves 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
Alice and her husband owned and managed St.’s Deli & Variety in Uxbridge for over 30 years. Alice is famous for her potato salad, clam cakes, deli sandwiches, and meat pies. She and “Saint” impacted the lives of many people. Together, they hosted an epic annual 4th of July party for over 20 years. She was a remarkably talented seamstress, knitter, costume-maker, baker, quilter, and ceramic artist. She loved dancing, seafood, crafting, and cooking. A hardworking woman throughout her life, she found her greatest joy in her family. She and Edward traveled near and far to watch their grandchildren play ball or perform in dance recitals. She was an active member of Good Shepherd Church in Linwood, MA, and St. Mary Parish in Uxbridge. She moved to Sunrise Assisted Living in Plymouth in May of 2025 and became a cherished member of the community there, making many friends. She said recently: “I had a hard life, but it was a good life.” She will be deeply missed.
Alice’s Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 20th at 11 AM from St. Mary Parish, 77 Mendon St., Uxbridge. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, Jan. 19th from 4-6 PM in Tancrell-Jackman Funeral Home, 35 Snowling Road, Uxbridge.
