Uxbridge- Aime J. (Rabitor) Hughes, 74, of Highness Dr., passed away on Sun. Dec. 19, 2021 at Milford Regional Medical Center after an illness. She was predeceased by her husband of 44 years, John A. Hughes in 2016.
She is survived by 2 children, John E. Hughes and his wife Rachel of Douglas, and Eric T. Hughes and his wife Beth of Uxbridge; 4 grandchildren, John (Jack) P. Hughes, Jordan Aime Hughes, Catherine Brenna Hughes, and Owen Thomas Hughes; a sister, Michelle Donovan and her husband William of Uxbridge; a nephew, William Donovan Jr. of Uxbridge, and several good friends. She was also predeceased by her younger brother William Rabitor.
Born in Uxbridge on May 14, 1947 she was the daughter of Aime J. and Rachael (Verrier) Rabitor and grew up in Uxbridge, graduating from Uxbridge Highschool class of 1967. She then furthered her education attending Southern State College in Magnolia, Arkansas where she met her husband John. They returned to Massachusetts in 1975 and Aime worked as a special education teacher at Shepherd Hill School in Dudley. Later, she earned a Masters Degree in computer technology from Framingham State College and became the IT and computer technology teacher at Nipmuc Regional High School. She worked there 15 years up until her retirement.
Aime enjoyed keeping in touch with her college friends throughout the years, and loved traveling, bringing home momentous from each trip. She loved spending time with her family and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events. She will be dearly missed by her family.
Due to the pandemic, all services for Aime will be privately held at the convenience of her family. A celebration of her life will be announced at a later date.
