Uxbridge- Adeline (Galas) Desmarais, 86, of Blackstone St., passed away peacefully at her home on Tues. April 19, 2022 after a period of declining health. She was predeceased by her husband of 28 years, Victor Desmarais in 1989.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Cori Burrill of Uxbridge and Lisa Dumas of Bellingham; 6 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandson on the way; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Jeffrey Desmarais; 4 brothers, John, Joseph, Stanley, and Frank Galas, and 4 sisters, Jennie Galas, Mary Galas, Sophie Wojcik, and Carolina Chiechanowski.
Born in Uxbridge on September 23, 1935 she was the daughter of John and Suzanne (Krucovicin) Galas, and was a lifelong resident of Uxbridge. She was educated from Uxbridge Public Schools, and worked 36 years as a Payroll Specialist for Woonsocket Health Center retiring in 2013.
Adeline enjoyed watching game shows, trips to Twin River Casino, and reading. Above all she loved her family and spending time with them especially gathering for big Sunday dinners. She will be remembered as a loving and sweet woman, who will be sorely missed by family and friends.
Adeline’s memorial calling hours will be held from Tancrell-Jackman Funeral Home, 35 Snowling Rd., Uxbridge on Thurs., May 12 from 10 AM -12 noon, with a service in the funeral home at noon.
