With all my heart I send my condolences to Bucky's family.  Bucky and I became regulars at the Picket Fence in Douglas.  He always had something kind to say about everything and everyone.  He was an impressive guy.. tough, hard working, and very interesting.  I have missed our conversations at the lunch counter.  Rest in peace Bucky.  You are and will be remembered!

I am proud to have called Bucky my friend.  He was a good man - kind, gentle and hardworking.  And a friend one could count on when they needed help in a pinch.  Years ago I spent winter weekends of many years with Bucky and Sonny cutting trees down (with more than a few surprising us with where they fell), making smaller pieces, splitting, stacking and delivering them.  Another time I helped them dig out a cellar to allow for a concrete floor to be poured.  Hard work all of it.  Many days I found it difficult to keep up with Bucky's work ethic.  He helped me deal with a big tree last fall and I was impressed that he still had the stamina for that kind of work.  We had a couple of days together and discussed many different subjects -- Bucky presented an interesting perspective on all of them.  I always admired how well he dealt with life's setbacks and found ways forward.  It seems to me that today there are few with the characteristics of a gentle spirit, hard work, drive and entrepreneurial spirit that defined Bucky.  For those who knew him well, our lives will be poorer with his loss.  My condolences to Bucky's family.  I'm certain that he is now enjoying a peaceful rest.
