Dear Cheryl and Family,  I cannot express to you how saddened and shocked I was to learn of Al's passing.  I have known Al for most of my 15 years as a Lion, and have always known him to be a very caring and compassionate person.  His love for his family and community was evident.  I was so much looking forward to working with him this year in his position as Region 2 Chair, and will greatly miss his great smile, laughter and hugs.  We have lost a wonderful man, and my heart, thoughts and prayers go out to all of you.  Love you, AL, RIP.

I was honored to work with Al in the Army National Guard. We worked side by side for several years. He was the best. He always had a smile and a
very contagious laugh. I only hope I was as good a friend to him as he was to me. Rest now my friend, you've earned it.
