Uxbridge/ Harwichport- Dennis F. Daley, 91, formerly of Uxbridge, passed away on Sun. Jan. 17, 2021 at Liberty Commons Nursing Home in North Chatham where he had been a resident the past 2 years. He is survived by his adoring wife of 66 years, Evelyn (Rivernider) Daley, resident of Harwichport.

            He is also survived by his son, Thomas Daley of South Harwich, daughter-in-law, Patricia (Gouin) Daley of Broomfield, CO; 5 grandchildren, Erika Daley of Seattle, WA, Allison Daley of Broomfield, CO, Seth Daley of New Bedford, Meghan Daley of Mattapoisett and Kevin Daley of Fall River, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Timothy F. Daley in 2016, his brother John B. Daley in 1993, his sister Mary Loretta Newell in 2011 and sister Anne Richard in 2006.

         Born in Milford on April 20, 1929 he was the son of John E. and Mary J. (Casey) Daley and lived in Uxbridge most of his life.  He graduated from Uxbridge High School, participating in athletics.  He worked for Massachusetts Electric Company for 43 years retiring in 1990.  

        Dennis was a proud Korean War Veteran, enlisting in the U.S. Army and rising to the rank of Sergeant.   He was of the Roman Catholic faith and a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus.  He was a Past Commander of the American Legion, Post #33.  Before retirement, he was active in politics in Massachusetts and held several elected and appointed offices.

         In 1997 he graduated from Indian River Community College in FL and held a legal assistant degree.  He also attended Quinsigamond Community College and Worcester Junior College in MA.  He was certified by the Supreme Court of Florida as a mediator and was a member of the Alternate Dispute Resolution Program.

       There will not be any services at this time but his cremation burial will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers per Dennis’ request, donations in his memory may be made to: Our Lady of the Valley School in Uxbridge, in particularly to the G.R.A.C.E. center. The G.R.A.C.E.
