Whitinsville- David O. Valis, 79, died unexpectedly on Thurs. Nov. 12, 2020 at UMass University Campus.

 

He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Linda M. (LeBlanc) Valis; his daughter, Tiffany Remillard and her husband Scott of Whitinsville; 2 grandchildren, Alyssa and Tristan Remillard who affectionately called him “Grumpy”; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Edwin Valis Sr. in 2000. 

 

Born on Sept. 1, 1941, David grew up and was a lifelong resident of Whitinsville. He was the son of Joseph and Edna (Brady) Valis. David graduated from Northbridge high school and worked for Comtran Corp. in Whitinsville and Attleboro. He had worked there many years and retired in 2013. He served in the National Guard, Whitinsville Division. He enjoyed traveling, yearly trips to Florida, fishing, and eating. David was known as the wise guy of the family. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and strong wit.
