Mendon- Shirley A. (DesRosiers) Bilodeau, 80, passed away at Brigham and Women’s Hospital on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 after a period of declining health. Shirley was predeceased by her husband Roland J. Bilodeau in 2000.
        She leaves her 3 children, Margaret R. Tremblay and her husband Buzz of Spencer, Francis R. Bilodeau and his wife Barbara of Mendon, and Nancy A. Lucciarini and her husband Kevin of Uxbridge; her daughter-in-law, Brenda Nardone of Uxbridge, 9 grandchildren, David, Daniel, Sandra, Michael, Joseph Jr., Michael, Devina, Nicole, and Derek whom she cherished dearly. Shirley also leaves behind numerous great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and her long time neighbor and best friend, Frances Scott of Mendon. She was also predeceased by two sons, Joseph A. Nardone and Michael F. Nardone, and a sister, Patricia A. Swift.
         Shirley was born on September 20, 1939 in Worcester and was the daughter of Francis R. and Viola R. (Martinez) DesRosiers and grew up in Worcester, and attended Worcester Public Schools. Shirley worked several manufacturing jobs before retiring to care for her husband Roland before his death. She and her husband Roland raised their children in Mendon where Shirley became involved with several groups and activities. She was a Boy Scout troop leader, a volunteer for several school trips and events, a member of the Saint Michael’s Catholic Women’s Club, and in her later life a member of the Mendon Senior Center.
        Prior to Shirley’s decline in health, she enjoyed traveling to Arizona to see her son Joseph, Delaware to visit her daughter Margaret, going on cruises, and trips to Disney with her daughter Nancy and family. She was a proud grandmother that was always present at all their school functions, and just loved being with them. Shirley was always laughing and much enjoyed the company of family and friends, feeding the birds, and was always admired for her green thumb.
        Her Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, February 21st from Jackman Funeral Home, 12 Spring St., Whitinsville with a service beginning at 12 noon. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home will be held prior to the service from 10 AM- 12 noon. Nancy, my sincere sympathy to all your beautiful family. Your Mother was a lot of fun,always willing to lend a hand. She had a beautiful soul. That’s how I remember Shirley.🙏🏻

Nancy I am so sorry to hear about your Mom, When at the Senior Center for any musical program she would start to sing & get everyone in singing. Such a great lady, always smiling.
