Joan E. (Duffy) Donofrio, 90, of North Grosvenordale, CT, formerly of Sutton, MA died Sunday, December 15, 2019 in the arms of her son Anthony with his wife Jacqueline and her beloved dogs by her side.  Her husband Anthony Donofrio died in 1973.

      She is survived by her two sons, Anthony Donofrio and his wife Jacqueline of North Grosvenordale, CT and Stephen Donofrio and his wife Kelly of Davenport, FL;Three grandchildren, Nicole Hopkins and her husband Christopher of Bristol, RI, Mark Conlon of Oxford, MA, Shawn Donofrio and his wife Michelle of Randolph, MA; Six great grandchildren, Justin, Alex, Tyler, Ava, Troy, and Dylan; her niece, Marie Perkins, and nephews Joseph Miskel and Edward Donofrio, as well as several cousins. She was the younger sister of the late Girard Duffy and Patricia LaRose.

      Joan was born in Dorchester, MA on March 19, 1929 and was the daughter of William and Florence (Flanders) Duffy. She lived in Connecticut with her son Anthony and her daughter-in-law, Jacqueline for the past two years. Mrs. Donofrio worked at a nursing home in Quincy, MA for 24 years, and was extremely caring and dedicated to her patients. She enjoyed crocheting, shopping, and spending time with her dogs Jake, Diego, and Eleanora.

       Her funeral will be held Friday, December 20, 2019 at 10:30 am in Tancrell-Jackman Funeral Home, 35 Snowling Road, Uxbridge, MA. Guests may arrive at the funeral home at 10 am. Burial and graveside service will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in West Roxbury, MA. Memorial donations in her memory may be made to: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Unfortunately, I just heard today of Joanie's passing. So sorry to Anthony and Stevie for the painful loss of your mother.
