Uxbridge- Donat A. Gauvin, 84, passed away on Sat. April 20, 2019 after a period of declining health at Milford Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Patricia A. (Brackett) Gauvin.

            He is also survived by 2 children, Timothy D. Gauvin and his wife Lendine of Upton, and Christine L. Ballou and her companion Matt of Grafton; 7 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Noella Jubin of Holland, MI, Lorraine Plante of Warwick, RI, and Doris Freitas of California. Born in West Warwick, RI on June 2, 1934 Donat was the son of Bruno and Laura (Demers) Gauvin and grew up in West Warwick, attending their public schools.

            Donat worked as a Vehicle Warranty Administrator for 28 years for Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep dealers in the Norwood area. He enjoyed the company of his family (especially his grandchildren), cooking, fishing, undertaking carpentry projects, and word search puzzles. He was an avid New England Patriot’s fan, and a longtime member of the Uxbridge Knight’s of Columbus, and for a longtime volunteered at the local food pantry, and at his home Parish, St. Mary’s Church in Uxbridge.

            His funeral Mass will be held in St. Mary’s Church, 71 Mendon St., Uxbridge on Thurs. April 25 at 11 AM. A Calling hour at Tancrell- Jackman Funeral Home, 35 Snowling Rd., Uxbridge will be held prior to Mass from 9:30- 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Donat’s memory may be made to the: American Diabetes Association, 2451 Crystal Drive, Suite 900, Arlington, VA 22202. Dear Aunt Pat,I am just so sorry for your loss with Uncle Donat's passing. I pray that God will surround you with His Holy Spirit to comfort you, to give you strength as you face the days ahead. Know that you are in my prayers and thoughts. I can't believe it has been 10 years since were out to visit!!! I will cherish that memory.

I was so sorry to hear about Uncle Donat. He was a wonderful man who will be missed by all his family. I am sure he is with Our Lord enjoying everlasting life. We will join him in the proper time. Praying for you all.
