Uxbridge- Jane A. (Hetherington) Rondeau, 89, passed away on Sat. Jan. 19, 2019 at Lydia Taft House in Uxbridge, peacefully aside her loving family. She is survived by her husband of 68 years Edward J. Rondeau Sr.

         She is also survived by 3 children, Edward J. Rondeau Jr. of Douglas, Deborah J. Boucher of Uxbridge, and John A. Rondeau of Uxbridge; 7 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; a brother, George Hetherington and his wife Dorothy of Lake Winnipesaukee, NH, and a sister, Lada Nydam of Lancaster, PA. Jane was predeceased by 2 children, Rodney O. “Ollie” Rondeau in 2009, and Carl E. Rondeau in 2014, and also a great-grand daughter Lainey.

         Born in Detroit, MI on February 23, 1929 Jane was the daughter of George and Emma (Theriault) Hetherington and grew up in Detroit before moving to the Northbridge area. She was a graduate of Northbridge High School, and the Sartorial Arts and Interior Decorating Center in Detroit. Mrs. Rondeau was primarily a homemaker but, did work part time at numerous businesses in the area including the former Whitin Machine Works, GE out of Ashland, and the Mendon Drive-In.  She has been a resident of Uxbridge for the past 40 years.

She had a great passion for music, and enjoyed playing the piano, and gardening. She was a sweet woman and will be deeply missed by her family. She will be remembered for her warm loving nature and her great talent of playing the piano. Her family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Lydia Taft House for their loving care and attention to Jane.

As to Mrs. Rondeau’s wishes, she will not have funeral services and a private burial will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Uxbridge at a later date. To the Rondeau family: Butch and I were so sorry to hear of your loss Your Mom was always so kind to us and we always managed to have some laughs with her regardless of some of the things you all had to deal with We will always remember her fondly.
