Northbridge- James H. Morrissette, 68, of Gendron St. passed away Sat. Dec. 8, 2018 at UMASS Hospital in Worcester after an illness with his loving family by his side.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years Patricia J. (Gendron) Morrissette; a son Jared J. Morrissette of Whitinsville; a daughter Jennifer Kreuzinger and her husband Craig of Whitinsville; 3 granddaughters Brooke Morrissette, Paige Morrissette, and Bella Kreuzinger; a brother Paul J. Morrissette of Whitinsville; 3 sisters Linda A. Walsh of Spencer, Paula A. Smith of Worcester, and Joanne M. Niejadlik of Sutton; nieces, nephews, and many good friends.     Jim owned and operated Jim Morrissette’s Oil Burner Service Inc. since 1992. Previously he worked for Plummer’s Oil, McCarthy Pools, and the Town of Northbridge Highway Dept. Educated at Worcester Boy’s Trade High School, he was a jack of all trades. He loved landscaping in his yard, making furniture and bowls in his wood shop, and running his heavy equipment, which he called “playing in the dirt”. He was a member of the Rockdale Pitch League and loved baseball...Go Sox! He was a big fan of Judge Judy, The Andy Griffith Show and Forrest Gump.  Jim also had a passion for cars, including his 1934 Ford, 2000 Monte Carlo, and 1986 corvette.  Jim is also known in the classic car community for his 1972 Pro Street Nova, which he showed at the World of Wheels and Mohegan Sun Casino Auto Shows and won many awards. He sponsored a couple of race cars at Thompson Speedway and was a member of the pit crew.  He loved his family trips to Siesta Key, FL as well as to River Ranch.  He was a member of St. Peter’s Church.
Family was everything to Jim.  His children and grandchildren were his entire world.  He will be remembered as a man with deep love and devotion for his family and he could not be more proud.  To his friends, the most honest and straight shooting man.
His graveside funeral service will be held Friday. Dec. 14, at 11 am in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Providence Rd. (Rt. 122) Whitinsville. There are no calling hours. Patty, Jen, Jarred and all the Morrisette family,

I am shocked and saddened to learn of Jim's passing. We had so many good times together when the kids were younger. Labor Day was always a fun time! Jim was so good to Toms grandmother. I enjoyed seeing him when he'd come to clean the furnace. He was always friendky, kind, and fun. I'm so sorry for all of you. You are ALL in my heart and prayers. I will remember Jim fondly.

Much love to all,

Kevin Woodward

We are very saddened to hear about the passing of Jim. He was always available to help night or day, always a pleasure to talk to and very generous to the community. As an icon in the greater Blackstone Valley region he will be sorely missed.
