Whitinsville- Lucie E. (Picard) Vallee, 90, passed away on Wed. Oct. 10, 2018 at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Worcester after a brief illness. She was predeceased by her adored husband of 54 years, Roger F. Vallee in 2001.
        She is survived by 5 children, Raymond J. Vallee and his wife Lorraine of Clayton, NC, Suzanne E. Carrier and her husband Lawrence of Douglas, Pauline R. Conlee and her husband Robert of Whitinsville, Denise C. O’ Malley and her husband Danny of Leominster, Lisa M. Schultz and her husband John of Abington, MA; 4 grandchildren, Carolyn Harris, Christopher Conlee, Sarah Vallee, and Joseph Vallee; 1 great-granddaughter Ava Rose Conlee, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 3 siblings, Claire Beaudoin, Rene Picard, and Donald Picard.
        Born in Whitinsville on Aug. 8, 1928, she was the daughter of Donat & Anathalie (Richard) Picard and grew up and lived all of her life in the Whitinsville area. A very hardworking woman, Lucie worked for numerous companies including, the former Whitin Machine Works in town, where she met her husband Roger, the Amperex Co. in Slatersville, RI, the Whitinsville Community Center as a receptionist, and Bay State Abrasives in Westboro, where she worked up until her retirement in 1990. Lucie was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will be sorely missed by her family. She was a former member of the Ladies of St. Anne’s Society at Good Shepherd Church in Linwood, and a current parishioner of St. Patrick’s Church.
        Her Funeral Mass will be held on Mon. Oct. 15 at 11am in St. Patrick’s Church, 1 Cross St., Whitinsville. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Calling hours at Jackman Funeral Home, 12 Spring St., Whitinsville will be held on Sun. Oct. 14th from 5-7pm.
