Uxbridge- Melda Jean (Klinko) Ward, 77, formerly of Uxbridge passed away Wed. Oct. 3, 2018 at Genesis Milford Center after an illness.
    She is survived by 2 sons Bruce Ward of Newport, NY, and Franklin Ward of Clinton, Wisconsin; a daughter Christina Covino of Whitinsville; 12 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; a brother John Klinko of PA; 2 half brothers; a half sister; and several nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by a brother James Klinko, a grandson Shawn Ward, and a granddaughter Angela Bowers. Born in Oil City, PA on March 7, 1941 she was the daughter of Margaret (Longstreth) Klinko and was raised in PA by her mom and step-father Frank Sloss. She was educated at Cranberry High School in PA and was primarily a homemaker and caregiver, raising and providing for her family. She was a great cook and raised several foster children as well. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles. She will be remembered as a “country girl” who loved farming and animals.

    Her Funeral Service will be held Sat. Oct. 6, 2018 at 10am in Jackman Funeral Home, 12 Spring St. Whitinsville. Burial will follow in Riverdale Cemetery. A calling hour will be held Sat. Oct. 6 at the funeral home from 9 to 10 am. Memorial donations may be made to American Diabetes Assoc. 2451 Crystal Dr., # 900 Arlington, VA 22202. To leave a condolence message please visit:

Bruce,Frank, Chris, my thoughts and prayers are with you. Melda was one of a kind. She gave her all. I am truly sorry I wish I would have called her more. I miss her. God is with you during this difficult time. Lean on Him.
