Uxbridge- James “Jim” R. Brodeur, 60, passed away on Fri. Aug. 24, 2018 at Milford Hospital after along courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 38 years, Elizabeth A. (Briand) Brodeur.
He is also survived by 4 siblings, Richard Brodeur and his wife Wendy of Columbia, TN, Robert Brodeur and his wife Betty of Uxbridge, Cheryl Legere of Brookfield, and Susan Brodeur of Sutton; 13 nieces and nephews, and many, many great friends.
        Born in Milford on March 27, 1958 he was son of the late Raoul and Shirley (Lamoureux) Brodeur and grew up in Whitinsville. Jim was a graduate of Northbridge High school class of 1976. He worked as a tool grinder for the Fenwell Co. out of Ashland for 32 years. In 1985 he began working with the Northbridge Fire Dept. and in 1988 became an EMT and worked there for 4 years. Jim enjoyed bass and ice fishing, and tinkering with lawn mowers and snow blowers. He greatly enjoyed spending time with his siblings, and beloved nieces and nephews.  Jim will be remembered for his amazing sense of humor, which he kept until the very end, his positive spirit, and his want to put everyone else’s needs before his own. He was a great husband, brother, uncle, and friend, who will be sorely missed.
         His funeral Mass will be held on Tues. Aug. 28th in St. Patrick’s Church, 1 Cross St., Whitinsville at 11am. Calling hours at Jackman Funeral Home, 12 Spring St. will be held on Mon. Aug. 27th from 4-7pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jim’s memory may be made to either St. Patrick’s Church, PO Box 60, Whitinsville MA 01588, or to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105. Liz & family ,

I am a friend of Janet's and met you and your husband at visitation for your mother . Janet always spoke kindly of Jim and was so impressed by his sense of humor and his courage and honest attitude during his illness . I am sure he will sorely missed by all his loved one . Please accept my deepest condolences .
I was sorry I was unable to make it to the visitation , but Janet 's other friend named Henry promised to pass on my sympathy to you all .
