Uxbridge- John Adam, 100, passed away on Sat. July 14, 2018 at Milford Hospital. He was predeceased by his wife of 43 years, Ann M. (Greene) Adam this past February.
       He is survived by 3 children, Jack Adam and his wife Sandy of Westfield, Donna Wooster and her husband David of Daphne, AL, and Nancy McAninch of Kannapolis, NC; 4 step sons, William E. Blodgett Jr. and his wife Linda of Coaldale, CO, David M. Blodgett and his wife Joan of Northbridge, Robert S. Blodgett and his wife Janice of Quincy and Joseph J. Blodgett and his wife Jeanette of Bradenton, FL, a daughter in-law Pauline Adam of Uxbridge, 22 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and many great- great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Ronald Adam; 4 siblings, Fernand Adam, Marie Audette, Beatrice Cournoyer, and Annette Roy; and a son in law William McAninch.  
      Born on Feb. 11, 1918 in Berthier, Canada he was the son of Azarie and Alphonsine (Chapdelaine) and has lived in Uxbridge for almost 60 years. John and his brother Fern owned and operated their own business, Adam Brothers Garage and Towing Business in Uxbridge for 50 years until his retirement in 2000.   He enjoyed sports and was a semi-pro boxer and football player in his youth.  Later he enjoyed 10-pin bowling and participated in many tournaments throughout the country including winning the New England 10-Pin Bowling Association Tournament.  He was a big Patriot fan and a huge Red Sox fan.  
He was an amazing self-sufficient man with a great sense of humor.
      As to his wishes, Mr. Adam will be cremated and a combined memorial funeral service for Mr. and Mrs. Adam will be held at a later date to be announced. To leave a condolence message for his family please visit:

Jack Sandy and families, I am saddened to hear of the Passing of your Dad. He lived a long and impressive life, leaving many wonderful memories for all those who were part of his life. Keeping you all in prayer during this difficult time . Love you all.
