Uxbridge-Henry G. “Hank” Bosma, 91, of W. Hartford Ave.died June 22, 2018 at home. He was born in Whitinsville, MA on Sept 30, 1926 and his family were the first Dutch farmers in Douglas.

    Hank owned and operated the Bosma Farm, caring for 40 cows, overseeing their care, and the care of the farm. He delivered the milk to Douglas homes and supermarkets throughout the valley. He built Edgewood Golf Course in the 50’s, and moved his present home from Linwood, up Quarry Hill in the late 40’s. Hank was also an entrepreneur, owning other properties as well as the Douglas Flea Market, where the cows once stood. His mother Winifred Frieswick died in the 50’s and Gilbert Bosma, his father died when Henry was 23.

     He leaves 2 grown children who live in Douglas;  Amy Dunleavy with 2 children Cassidy and Mitchell; and Craig Bosma with 1 child Declan, His oldest son Henry Jr. in Vero Beach FL with his daughter Olivia. He also leaves his wife of 52 years Marlene J. (Alsop) Bosma of Uxbridge.

     Hank’s family would like to thank Christopher, Kathleen and Judy of Overlook Hospice Services as well as Lexi Marsh, CNA of Home Helpers of Douglas. Special thanks also to Amy,  his physical therapist.

     His private funeral service and burial with his parents in Riverdale Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

Rest in Peace, Mr. Bosma. I have fond memories of visiting with you and Mrs. Bosma. I loved hearing your stories about the farm and golf course. Fly with the angels!
