Uxbridge- Leo G. “Barney” Tebeau, 96, passed away on Fri. Nov 24, 2017 at Milford Regional Hospital after a brief illness.
His wife of 75 years Dorothy L. (Gardner) predeceased him on March 2, 2017. He is survived by a daughter Donna Bandilla of Worcester; 6 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by a son George Tebeau, a daughter Sharon Currie, a grandson George Tebeau Jr., 6 siblings; Gladys Mayer, Helen Sousa, Edna Potter, Dorothy Lipsett, Evelyn Consoletti, and George Tebeau Jr.
Born in Milford on June 25, 1921, he was the son of George and Louisa (Pregent) Tebeau and was raised in Bellingham before moving to Uxbridge where he spent most of his life. He worked as a foreman for the former Stanley Woolen Mill in Uxbridge for 30 years. He served in the US Army for 4 years and played the tuba for the Army band. He was very musically talented also playing the trumpet, harmonica, and also sung in his band “ Cecil Skonkas and the 4 Scents”. He was a big Yankees fan, who had interest in politics, and loved to play Keno. He was a very funny man and will be sorely missed by his family.
Barney’s Funeral Service will be held Thurs. Nov. 30 at 11am in Tancrell-Jackman Funeral Home, 35 Snowling Rd. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
