Manchaug- Robert J. Baillargeon, 76, of Main St. in the Manchaug section of Sutton, passed away on Wed. Nov. 22, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer.
     He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Janice M. (Edstrom) Renaud Baillargeon; 4 children, Yvonne Shanklin and her husband Tim of Lexington, TN, Robert Baillargeon and his wife Cherrise of Charlton, John Baillargeon and his wife Julie of Billings, MT, and David Baillargeon of Manchaug; many grandchildren including Gianna Baillargeon of Manchaug; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother Ronald Baker and his wife Stephanie of Millbury, a sister Mildred Mercon and her husband Bill of Manchester, NH; his former wives Beverly Baillargeon and Mary (Kane) Baillargeon; many nieces, nephews, and good friends. He was brother of the late Winnie Baillargeon, Warren Baker, Harold "Seaboy" Baillargeon, and Carol Hanley. Born in Worcester on Dec. 6 1940, Robert was the son of Harold and Dorothy (LaBuff) Baillargeon. He was raised and educated in Worcester. He lived the past 20 years in Manchaug and previously lived in Shrewsbury several years.
     Robert worked as a truck driver for Norman City Trucks and a car hauler for Anchor Motor Freight for many years, retiring in 2002. He was a very talented musician playing guitar and singing in several bands including "The 3 Brothers" and "Silvertones" who produced their own record. He served in the US Army Reserves, loved cooking, singing karaoke, and attending his sons baseball games.
     Robert’s Funeral Mass will be held on Fri. Dec. 1 at 12 noon in St. Denis Church, 23 Manchaug St., Douglas. Burial will follow in Central Cemetery, Millbury. Calling hours at Jackman Funeral Home, 7 Mechanic St. Douglas will be held prior to Mass on Fri. Dec. 1 from 9:30-11:30am. Please omit flowers.
