Uxbridge- Ronald F. Glode, 81, of Lackey Dam Rd. died Mon. Aug. 21, 2017 at home after an illness.
    He is survived by his wife of 59 years Julie A. (Paul) Glode; his 5 children Mary A. Ellis and her husband Ed, Janice McQuaid and her husband Dan, James Glode and his wife Karen, Laura Friis and her husband Matt, and Keith Glode and his wife Heather; 11 grandchildren Katelyn Ellis, Stephen and his wife Amy McQuaid, Kevin Glode, Kimberly Glode, Jenna Glode, Corey Glode, Tim Carey, Matthew Carey, Rachel and her husband William Teter, Scott Glode, and Ryan Glode; a sister Lorraine Stratton Nedoroscik, and many nephews and nieces. He was brother of the late Ernest Glode, Richard Glode, Janet Miller, and Doris Handfield. Born in Uxbridge on Jan. 27, 1936 he was the son of Ernest and Alice (DeJourdy) Glode and lived here all his life.
    Mr. Glode worked for the Town of Uxbridge Highway Dept. for 32 years. He then was employed at the Bernat Mill Complex and Foam Concepts, both in Uxbridge several years. He retired when he was 80.
      A graduate of Uxbridge High School, Class of 1956, he was a member of the State Police Association Auxiliary and the Uxbridge Auxiliary Fire Dept. Ron valued hard work and was also a custodian for the Town Hall many years. Known for his sense of humor he loved to laugh, enjoyed camping, playing cards especially pitch, bowling and horseshoes. A “shade tree mechanic” he loved his home and garage, his family and his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed.
    His funeral service will be held Sat. Sept. 9, 2017 at 11 am in Tancrell Jackman Funeral Home, 35 Snowling Rd. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home in Uxbridge are Fri. Sept. 8 from 4 to 8 pm and Sat. Sept. 9 from 9:30 to 11 am. Flowers accepted or memorial donations may be made to the Church at the Sanctuary at Woodville, Box 155, Woodville, MA 01784 or to Boy Scout Troop 25, c/o Jeff Shaw, 101 Woodland Rd. To Ron's Family, I offer my deepest condolences to all, and to say we grew up together he on Oak St. and myself on Capron. Many good memories of Ron and many laughs. He is now out of pain and will be with many family members. R.I.P.
