Uxbridge- Mary C. Dolan, 89, passed away peacefully on Tues. May 30th, 2017 after a battle with cancer. Born in Leominster MA on October 31, 1927, Mary was the only child of Dennis F. and Anna (Kennedy) Dolan. She attended St. Leo's Grammar School, and upon completion of the 8th grade moved to Uxbridge in 1941. A Uxbridge High School Graduate class of 1945 and Becker Junior College in Worcester, she was employed by Universal Cyclops Specialty Steel Division of Cyclops Corporation in their Worcester Office, retiring in 1983 after 37 years of service. After her retirement Mary worked part-time as the secretary for St. Mary's Parish in Uxbridge where she was a lifelong parishioner.

Mary was a member of the Uxbridge Taxpayers Assoc. and over the years held various positions on the boards of St. Mary's Rosary Sodality, Daughters of Isabella, Uxbridge Federated Woman's Club, the Uxbridge Historical Society and Uxbridge Historical Commission. She loved traveling the U.S, Ireland, Germany and Italy, and adored the companionship of her canine friends Ballet, Charlie Brown, Heidi, Annie, and Miss Mimi over the course of her lifetime.

Mary is survived by cousins and dear friends near and far here in the U.S. and in Ireland, Australia, and France, and many "nieces" and "nephews" whom she mentored and loved throughout her years. She was a wonderfully kind and brilliant woman with a zest for adventure and life and will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

Mary's Funeral will be held on Fri. June 2nd, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 noon at St. Mary's Parish, 77 Mendon Street, Uxbridge. Calling hours will be held at the Church prior to Mass from 11-12. Mary Dolan was a true lover of people and canines. The affection she showed Miss Mimi, one of "my" rescues, was heart-warming. She also enjoyed the love of many people. God's Grace and Peace to those she left behind.
