Douglas- Ernest G. Bergeron, 68, of South St. died unexpectedly on Mon. May 8, 2017 at home. His companion of 35 years, Harold E. Briggs Jr. died Jan 1, 2017. He is survived by 9 siblings: William Bergeron of Woonsocket, Leo Bergeron and his wife Beverly of Arizona, Beatrice King and her husband Larry of Douglas, Albert Bergeron of Millville, Richard Bergeron of Fitchburg, Therese Dion of Grafton, Dorothy Thompson and her husband Sterling of Linwood, David Bergeron and his wife Kathy of Linwood, and Joseph Bath and his wife Sheila of Talledaga, AL. He was brother of the late Ronald Bergeron, Doris Chippo, and Raymond Bergeron.

Born in Uxbridge on Sept. 9, 1948, he was the son of William J. and Florence (Courteau), and was a longtime Douglas resident. Mr. Bergeron worked as a screen printer for the Hutchinson Co. in Whitinsville for many years. He previously worked as a Nurse’s Aide in Woonsocket, and for Bernat Yarn Co in Uxbridge. He enjoyed sewing, the Hour of Power TV program, and he loved visiting with his family.

Ernest and his partner Harold's graveside funeral service and cremation burial will be held on Sat. June 3, 2017 at 11 am. in Fuller Cemetery, 1 Torrey Rd. Sutton. Donations in Ernie's memory may be made to the family. To leave a condolence message for the family please visit:

I am so sorry for the loss of Errnie. Although I had known Ernie for some time I was just getting to know him. A gentle spirit that I will miss terribly. We were planning our next luncheon. He had a wonderful smile and a great sense of humor.
