Douglas – Sandra L. Larson, 74, passed away on Fri. Jan. 13 at Hubbard Hosp. after being stricken ill.  
     Her husband Robert Larson died in 1978.  She is survived by her daughter Becki Jean Larson of Hopedale, who was her pride and joy; brother Paul A. Chase, Jr. and his wife Nancy of Leicester, niece Alison Granshaw and her husband Mark of Manhattan; nephew Paul Chase and his wife Meghan of Plymouth, MA; great nephew James Granshaw; great niece Adeline Chase; great niece or nephew on the way; aunt Dorothy Laprade and her husband Roland of Holden; many cousins and friends. She was predeceased by 3 uncles and 4 aunts.  Born in Worcester on Nov. 25, 1942 she was the daughter of the late Paul A. Sr. and Alice M. (Martunas) Chase and was a lifelong resident of Douglas.  She was a graduate of Douglas High School, Class of 1960, worked as a bookkeeper for the Former Bernat Yarns in Uxbridge as well as being her mother’s primary caretaker many years.
     A very devoted and loving mother, she will be remembered for her kindness and dedication to her family.  Sandra was a member of the United Methodist Church in Douglas where she taught Sunday school. Always having a kind and caring word, she closed each letter to friends with “God Bless”.  She enjoyed crossword puzzles, knitting, crocheting and in her younger years watching the races with her husband at the Thompson Speedway.
     Her funeral service will be held in Jackman Funeral Home, 7 Mechanic St., Douglas on Wed., Jan. 18 at 11 a.m.  Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be held on Tues., Jan. 17 from 3 – 7 p.m.  To leave a condolence message for the family, please visit

I was saddened to hear of Sandy's loss. She was a very kind woman and i will miss her weekend visits and nightly phone calls to Becki. My thoughts are with you at this hard time. Rest in peace
