Douglas- Rose M. Coporale, 88, previously of A St. passed away on Sat. Dec. 17, 2016 at St. Camillus Health Ctr.
     She is survived by 2 nieces Cynthia Saviano and Diane St. George; 3 nephews Ronald Coporale, Dennis Coporale, and Gary Coporale; several great nephews and nieces; several in-laws including Joanne Bradbury.   She was sister of the late Antoinette Bylund, Dominick Coporale, Vincent “Jimmy” Coporale.   A nephew Dennis Coporale predeceased her.   Born in Douglas on March 26, 1928 she was the daughter of Dominick and Martha (Damore) Coporale and lived here all her life.  She was a graduate of Douglas High School, Class of 1946.
    Rose worked at the former Whitin Machine Works in Whitinsville, the Milford Unemployment Office, the Edgewood Golf Club in Douglas, and finally for Bernat Yarns in Uxbridge for 29 years, retiring in 1989.  She was a lifelong member of St. Denis Church.
     Rose was an avid sports fan and played softball for the Blackstone Valley Mill and All Star leagues.  A diehard Red Sox fan, she could recite players’ statistics.  An enthusiastic golfer, she played in the Tuesday night Edgewood League.  She also enjoyed tennis, and bowling, and of course, bingo, where she had good luck.  Rosie was always the life of the party.  She will be fondly remembered as a loving aunt, great aunt, and friend.
     Her funeral will be held from Jackman Funeral Home, 7 Mechanic St., Douglas on Wed. Dec. 21 with a Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Denis Church, 23 Manchaug St.  Burial will follow in St. Denis Cemetery.  Calling hours at the funeral home will be held on Tues. Dec. 20 from 3 – 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rose’s memory may be made to the Douglas Fire Dept., P.O. 222, Douglas, MA  01516.  To leave a condolence message for the family, please visit www.jackmanfuneralhomes.com
