Whitinsville- Claire (Dion) Roy, 90, formerly of Atria Draper Place in Hopedale passed away surrounded by her loving children on Sat. Dec. 10, 2016 at St. Camillus Health Center.
     She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Leopold J. “Fitzy” Roy in 2009.  She is survived by her son Charles Roy and his wife Mollie of Oakton, VA and her daughter Nancy Kujawski and her husband Thomas of Whitinsville; 5 grandchildren John C. Roy of Oakton, VA, Matthew T. Roy and his wife Nicole of Shanghai, China, Jason Sabatino and his wife Meagan of Highland Village, TX, Christy Pino and her husband Michael of Millville, and Cynthia DiPinto and her husband Anthony of Shrewsbury; 7 great grandchildren, Lucy and Caroline Sabatino, Madison, Teddy, and Leo Pino, Madison and Anthony, Jr. DiPinto; a sister-in-law Marie Rivet; a brother-in-law Donald Bigwood; nieces and nephews.  She was sister of the late Edouilda Isabelle, Lucia Roy, and Yvette Dupre.  Born in the Linwood section of Northbridge on March 1, 1926 she was the daughter of Napoleon T. and Arminie (Bouffard) Dion and lived in the Linwood and Uxbridge area all of her life.
     Claire graduated Salutatorian of St. Mary's High School in Milford, Class of 1944 and worked as the head bookkeeper for the former Blackstone Valley National Bank, Bank of Boston, and Bank of America until retiring in 1985 to take care of her grandchildren.  Claire was devoted to her faith and her family.  She was a lifelong member of Good Shepherd Church and was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne Sodality.  Claire was very kind hearted and always had a beautiful smile and encouraging word for everyone she met.  The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the staff at St. Camillus especially Katie Schwab, Lori and Shirley; and Cathy, Kristen, and Emily for the their compassion and dedication shown to Claire during her time there.
     Her funeral will be held on Sat. Dec. 17 from Tancrell-Jackman Funeral Home, 35 Snowling Rd., Uxbridge with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Good Shepherd Church, 121 Linwood St.  Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.  Calling hours at the funeral home will be held on Fri. Dec. 16 from 4 – 7 p.m.  Memorial donations may be made to Good Shepherd Church, PO Box 517, Linwood, MA  01525.  To leave a condolence message for the family, please visit
