Uxbridge – Alcida Elsie M. (Lefrancois) Lefrancois, 101, died peacefully on Sat. Dec. 12 surrounded by her family and friends at Beaumont Nursing & Rehab. Ctr.  Her beloved husband William J. Lefrancois passed away in 1983.  She is survived by her son Norman W. and daughter-in-law Rita of Hopedale; a daughter Rita Sherman of KilleenTX; 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 10 great-great grandchildren; and her sister Omerthea Larochelle of New Britain, CT. She was predeceased by her brothers Alcide, Mitchell, Harry, George, and Joseph Lefrancois; 2 sisters Ida Cooney and Marguerite Lefrancois. Born in St. John DeManville, Quebec she was the daughter of Louis and Merilda (Paquin) Lefrancois and lived in Uxbridge with her husband most of her life.
     Mrs. Lefrancois attended the Uxbridge Public Schools and worked briefly in the textile industry.  She loved to cook and had a special love for music.  Alcida was a member of St. Mary’s Church.
     The family is extremely grateful to all the nurses and staff for the wonderful and compassionate care given at Beaumont Nursing Ctr. and Hospice care.
     Her funeral will be held from Tancrell-Jackman Funeral Home, 35 Snowling Rd. Uxbridge on Wed. Dec. 16 with a Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, 71 Mendon St., Uxbridge.  Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.  Calling hours at the funeral home will be held on Tues. My deepest sympathy to Alcida's family. She will be remembered as one of my most cherished patients. I will miss our visits and her cheerful outlook.
