Douglas- Harold W. “Bucky” Buxton, Jr., 75, of NW Main St. died Tues. Feb. 12, 2019 after an illness. 
    He is survived by 7 sisters, Mary Emerick of Uxbridge, Barbara Rizzi and her husband George of Cincinnati, OH, Nancy Greenlaw of Stockton Springs, ME, Deborah VandenAkker and her husband Stuart of Whitinsville, Sarah Blizard and her husband Gordon of Leominster, Martha Thornton and her husband Albert of Douglas, and Kathleen Rheaume and her husband Allen of Whitinsville; 3 brothers, Richard Buxton and his wife Sandra of E. Brookfield, Walter Buxton of Coldbrook, NY, and John “Jackie” Buxton of Oxford; many nephews, nieces, and good friends, especially Diana Dube and Rick Morel. Born in Northbridge, MA on Oct. 2, 1943 he was the son of Harold W. and Doris (Manning) Buxton and lived in Douglas most of his life.
    Hal worked for the Town of Douglas Highway Dept. for many years. He also operated his own Trucking Business and Wood Cutting Business. Harold proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, and was stationed in Korea. Educated in the Douglas Public School System Bucky was a fixture in town. He could be seen in the local restaurants and milling about town with his many friends. He will be remembered as a gentle, happy man, always willing to lend a hand to those in need. His family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at UMass University, Neuro ICU for their loving care and support shown during Bucky’s illness.
    His memorial funeral service will be held on Sat. March 30 at 11am in Jackman Funeral Home, 7 Mechanic St., Douglas. Cremation burial will follow in Douglas Center Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be held prior to his service from 9-11am. Memorial donations in Bucky’s memory may be made to: the Douglas Ambulance Fund, PO Box 222, Douglas, MA 01516.
