Uxbridge-Rachel I. (Graveson) Bergeron, 88, of W. Hartford Ave. died peacefully on Wed. June 8, 2016 after a brief illness. She is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Raymond F. Bergeron; her son Joseph F. Bergeron and his wife Danielle of Jackman, ME; a grandson Brett R. Bergeron and his wife Meghan of Uxbridge; a brother William J. Graveson and his wife Christine of Uxbridge; grandchildren Jacob, Abram and Noah; great-grandchildren Jeremiah, Paige, Brody, Emma, Harland and Emmett; and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her daughter Dolores R. Bergeron in 2002 and siblings Lillian, Mary, Joseph, Germaine, Laura, and Edward “Butch”. Born in Penacook, NH on Sept. 10, 1927, she was the daughter of Edward and Marie R. (Pellerin) Graveson and lived in Uxbridge for over 70 years.
Rachel worked for the former Waucantuk Mill in Uxbridge before becoming a homemaker. She was later a teacher’s aide for the Uxbridge school system. She enjoyed sewing, reading, and crocheting. A very faithful woman, she was a member of Good Shepherd Church and taught CCD for 15 years. She was also a Cub Scout leader when her boys were young. Rachel and Raymond spent many summers at their treasured lakeside camp in Alfred, ME.
A calling hour will be held at Tancrell-Jackman Funeral Home, 35 Snowling Rd., Uxbridge on Fri. June 24 from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. A memorial service will take place at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Uxbridge.
