Douglas- Karen M. (Macchi) Labelle, 63, of Depot St. died Thurs. May 26, 2016 after a long illness. Her husband Michael W. Labelle predeceased her in 2014. She is survived by her son Christopher Labelle of Douglas; a brother Carlo Macchi of Milford; 3 sisters Debra Buiso and her husband Peter of Milford, Judith Derderian and her husband Joseph of Milford, and Kathleen Danforth and her husband David of Whitinsville; several nieces and nephews; and many good friends.

Born in Framingham on Feb. 27, 1953 she was the daughter of Carlo and Kathleen (Stanley) Macchi and lived in Milford before moving to the Douglas area, where she has lived the past 40+ years. Karen worked at the former Guilford of Maine in Douglas as a fabric inspector for 18 years; she also worked at Milford Hospital in housekeeping for 5 years. Karen was a very strong woman battling with Osler Weber Rendu Syndrome for many years. Most important to her was spending time with her family, and she loved children. She was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church in Millville for several years.

A service at the funeral home will be held on Wed. June 1 at 7:30 pm. Calling hours will be held prior to the service from 6 to 7:30 pm. at Jackman Funeral Home, 12 Mechanic St., Douglas.
