Albert Leveille Obituary

Whitinsville- Albert “Oscar A. Sr” Leveille,  87, formerly of Union St. in Linwood, passed away on Wednesday, February. 28, 2024 peacefully with his loving family at his side. He was predeceased by his wife of 45 years, Rosemary T. (Macchiaroli) Leveille who died in 2002. 

         He is survived by 3 daughters Catherine A. O’Connell and her husband Sean of Millbury with whom he lived, Linda M. Irwin and her fiance Steve Gentile of Bellingham, and Christine J. Best and her husband Christopher of Venice, FL; 9 grandchildren, Rachel Sutherland, Katie Sutherland, Michael Sutherland, Jen Sutherland, Samantha Torti, Anthony Southwick, Tyler Oosterman, Alexis Oosterman, and Jenna-Rose Oosterman;  5 great-grandchildren, Seth, Faith, Lilian, Ethan, and Tyler; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his loving son Oscar A. Leveille Jr. who died in 2023 and longtime companion Lucille Barber who died in 2023.

         Born in Worcester on August 10, 1936, to Rene and Alice (Bourgeois)Leveille. Albert grew up in Whitinsville where Rose and he raised their family. He was educated from both Worcester Boys Trade and Boston Boys Trade School. A hard worker, he was employed as a machinist for the former Whitinsville Machine Works, George Meyers Co. and the Draper Corp. before starting his 20+ year career with Wyman Gordon Co.

         Albert was very handy. When he wasn’t working 2 jobs, he could be found working on a home project. In his younger years, he and his wife loved dancing, raising their children, spending winters in FL. in their camper and spending time with their grand and great grandchildren. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle and driving his truck which were immaculately kept. A devout family man, he loved his grand and great- grandchildren. He was a great husband, father and grandfather who will be missed by everyone who knew him. 

         Calling hours will be held at the Jackman Funeral Home on 12 Spring Street, Whitinsville on Monday March 4th 9-11 AM, the Funeral Service will follow at 11 AM. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Albert’s memory may be made to: the Alzheimer’s Association, 320 Nevada St., Ste 201, Newton, MA 02460. Donate online
