North Uxbridge- Douglas E. Guertin, 53, of Pond St. died Mon. March 26, 2018 at UMass Memorial after being stricken ill.
     He is survived by his wife of 18 years Dorothea A. “Dede” (Theodore) Guertin; 3 children, Joshua A. Guertin, Sarah G. Guertin and Abigail L. Guertin all of Uxbridge; 7 siblings Maurice A. and his wife Karmen Guertin of Sutton, VT, Dennis E. and his wife Mary Beth Guertin of Douglas, Christine T. and her husband Joseph Boule of Warwick, RI, Thomas R. and his wife Helen Guertin of Uxbridge, Suzanne M. and her husband Michael Benedetto of Uxbridge, Peter W. and his wife Annette Guertin of Sutton, and Michael P. and his wife Bonnie Guertin of Uxbridge; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Born in Whitinsville, MA on Nov. 27, 1964 he was son of the late Edward and Lucienne (Chartier) Guertin and lived in Uxbridge all his life.
     Mr. Guertin worked as a Registered Nurse for Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket the past 10 years. Very passionate about his career he was a strong patient advocate and worked in the medical field over 30 years. A graduate of Blackstone Valley Tech, Class of 1982, he earned his degree from Quinsigamond Community College in Paramedicine. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, anything Star Wars, religiously watching the NE Patriots, and teaching students at Landmark Hospital. He loved his family and will be remembered for his loving nature and willingness to help anyone. He was a member of Singletary Rod and Gun Club.
     His funeral will be held Tuesday April 3, 2018 at 10am in Cornerstone Church, 5 Hartford Ave. E, North Uxbridge. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Calling hours at Tancrell-Jackman Funeral Home, 35 Snowling Rd. Uxbridge are Mon. April 2 from 4 to 7 pm. Dear Guertin children, wife and family please accept my deepest condolences. I worked with Doug at Landmark Medical and learned so much from him. He was a GREAT NURSE and a GREAT man. I can’t imagine nor justify what you all must be going through. Please find comfort in one another. I am so so sorry. God bless 🙏🏻
