Whitinsville- Gary J. Belanger, 45, passed away on Mon. September 18, 2017 after a courageous 5 month battle with bladder cancer. He is survived by 2 children; Arielle Andre and her husband Steven of Whitinsville, and his son Hunter Belanger with whom he lived, his parents; James and Sherry (Conn) Belanger of Douglas, 2 sisters; Terry and her husband John Oldfield of Milford, and Cindy and her husband Michael Bosselman of Douglas, his adored grandchildren; Skylar “ his Pumpkin Pie”, Jordan, Samantha, Mikayla, & Logan Andre, his niece and nephew; Madyson and Owen Christian, many Aunts including his 3 very supportive Aunts; Joyce, Sue & Cindy, and also many  Uncles, Cousins and special friends. He also leaves his 4-legged family, his dog Jack, and cat Cammo “Slim”.    

Born in Worcester on July 16, 1972, Gary grew up in Whitinsville before moving to Millbury with his family and then returned to Whitinsville in 2012. He graduated from Blackstone Valley Technical High School, and worked for the Barrday Corp. in Millbury for the past 13 years as a Maintenance Mechanic.  He was an avid hunter who enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, and on weekends liked going to Indian Ranch with his parents. He also had a great love for the beach.
His family would like to extend a very special thank you to his Urologist; Jennifer Davila Aponte, Oncologist; Dr. Kriti Mittal, his Radiologist; Dr. Jesse Aronowitz, Worcester Hospice Care, especially Nurse Regina, and all of the nurses and staff at UMass.

Gary’s Celebration of Life will be held on Sat. Sept. 23 from 2-4pm. at the Jackman Funeral Home, 12 Spring St. Whitinsville. A Service of Remembrance will begin at 3pm.
