N. Uxbridge-Theresa C. (Lafreniere) Royer, 82, of Beverly Ave. previously of Providence Rd., Linwood died Sun. Nov. 25 at St. Camillus Health Ctr. where she had been a resident the past 2 years. She is survived by her devoted husband Joseph H. “Harvey” Royer of 63 years; 3 daughters Ann Marie Williams and her husband Joseph of E. Dennis, Paula A. Azizi and her husband Ali of Danielson, CT, and Lisa M. Bernard and her husband Kenneth of Uxbridge; 4 grandchildren Lindsey Bernard, Courtney Bernard, Sarah Azizi, and Stephen Royer Jr. and his wife Danielle; 1 great granddaughter Lillian Mae Royer; 2 brothers Wilfred Lafreniere of Uxbridge and Leo Lafreniere of Manchaug; a sister Jeannette Pouliot of Whitinsville; and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by 2 sons Paul J. Royer and Stephen M. Royer and was sister of the late Adrien Lafreniere, Yvette Lafreniere, and Evelyn Vincent. Born in Whitinsville on Sept. 21, 1930 she was the daughter of Louis and Emma (Carrigan) Lafreniere and lived in Linwood and Uxbridge all of her life.
Mrs. Royer worked as a Practical Nurse for St. Camillus Nursing Home. She later worked for Sears & Roebuck Catalog Store in Whitinsville; Louis Fashions, and in the cafeteria at Blackstone Valley Technical High School. She was educated at the Good Shepherd School and was a long time member of Good Shepherd Church. Over the years she enjoyed gardening, plants, antique shopping, and flea markets. Her family would like to thank Fr. Jack, the staff, the residents and their families of St. Camillus for their kindness, support, and care.
Her funeral will be held Wed. Nov. 28 from Tancrell-Jackman Funeral Home, 35 Snowling Rd., Uxbridge with a Mass at 11:30 a.m. in Good Shepherd Church, 121 Linwood St. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Wed. Nov. 28 from 9:30 – 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the St. Camillus Activities Fund or Staff Appreciation Fund, both 447 Hill St. Whitinsville, MA 01588.
